Grand Hyatt San Francisco Hotel Review

We were looking for a place to stay overnight in San Fran for less than $300. Our normal hotels were almost $500 and after some searching, we stumbled upon the Grand Hyatt San Fran which was priced at $275 (sans taxes).

With a location close to Market & Union, close to several train stations, shops and restaurants, it is a good home base for a few days. While the rooms are not too special, the front desk and Grand Lounge staff is very personable which makes it a great pick. While a good stay, I will test out other hotels in the area before returning to the Grand Hyatt.

Our luxury hotel in downtown Washington, D.C., is a few blocks from the National Mall, Smithsonian Museums, and historical monuments. Grand Hyatt Washington Review

We spent $1,131.68 ($282.92 per night) along with 24k points for a four-night stay in a Grand Suite. Due to issues during check-in (including the room not being ready 4 hours after check-in), the hotel credited back 15k points. 

This category 4 hotel has direct access to the Metro center, a central DC location, and a great staff which makes it a nice option for a long weekend in DC.

After arriving on a red-eye, it was great to catch the free hotel shuttle (Ubers were $22 for the less than 2-mile journey) to this airport hotel.  By airport hotel standards, for 5,00 Hyatt points a night (Category 1), this is a great base, with spacious rooms & friendly staff. 

The Flag Shinsaibashi is a 3.5-star hotel located in the heart of Osaka, Japan. The hotel is conveniently located near Shinsaibashi Station, making it easy to access all that Osaka has to offer. 

The hotel's rooms are spacious and comfortable and are equipped with all the amenities you need for a relaxing stay. The hotel also has a rooftop terrace with stunning views of the city.

If you are looking for an Osaka hotel catering to tourists from the West, located in the heart of Dotonbori, this is a great place to stay.

Overall I was 'meh' about this hotel. While the room was nice & I appreciated the laundry service, it felt lacking in the Japanese culture. I would be unlikely to stay here again unless I needed to be in the vicinity for a specific reason.

Hyatt Regency JFK Airport at Resorts World New York is a 4-star hotel located in Queens, New York. It is just a short drive from John F. Kennedy International Airport and is also home to NYC's only casino, Resorts World Casino New York City. The hotel offers a variety of amenities, including a restaurant, bar, gym, and casino. It also has a free shuttle service to and from the airport. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the staff is friendly and helpful. This is a great airport hotel, albeit noting that the hotel does not provide an airport shuttle. Rooms are nicely appointed & the Regency lounge has a good variety of food. Would stay here again if I had more than a 16-hour layover at JFK. Overall a fantastic stay & I would consider staying here as a base for access to Brooklyn, with the A train nearby.

Originally booked at the Conrad NY Downtown hotel, we changed to the Hyatt Centric Wall Street as it was priced significantly cheaper and allowed us to add 4 nights towards 2023's globalist status. Located in the quiet financial district, close to restaurants and the subway, it was a great base for 4 nights in NY. While we enjoyed our stay, there are so many other hotels in NY we would want to visit prior to returning.

Booked Monday, August 22 for an August 26th stay with a rate of $198/night for a King Bed Deluxe. Interestingly, three days before check-in a Centric Premier Suite was added to the list of available rooms. The day before check-in, we received a complimentary upgrade to a 7th Centric Suite (of 17 floors).

Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino Hotel Review

, we booked a three-night weekend stay at Mandalay Bay to be close to Allegiant Stadium for the Raiders game. As an M Life Rewards member, benefits are waived resort fee, however no bottle of water. I would stay here again if prices were less than $100 per night when attending events at Allegiant Stadium due to walkability ease. If prices exceed $200 per night, I would rather stay at the Four Seasons (top floors) for a better overall Vegas experience.

Before our stay, I read many reviews filled with disdain for the Crockford Las Vegas. After staying at the Hilton and Conrad I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed our time here.

Booked a two-night weekend stay in a Strip View Superior King Room via Amex Fine Hotels and Resorts for $562.94 which included a 25% nightly rate discount.

After staying at the three Resorts World hotels, for $250/night, I would definitely stay at the Crockford for better service, better amenities, and an overall better Resorts World stay.

, we Ubered to Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas for a one-night stay. After spending one night at the Waldorf Astoria New York when I was a teenager, I was excited to revisit this hotel brand. 

We booked a Strip View Room (506 sq ft) through a travel agent and were provided a complimentary upgrade to a Waldorf Junior Suite (646 sq ft). At check-in we were offered an upgrade to a Panorama Strip View One-Bedroom Suite (764 sq ft) for an additional $150, however, we declined.

Our one night cost $480 ($379 rate + $101 taxes and fees) which is an average price for the hotel. We stayed on Thursday night, and weekend rates (Friday/Saturday night) can command upwards of $800 per night plus the taxes and fees.

Sadly, the Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas (previously the Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas) did not live up to my memory of my stay at the Waldorf New York when I was younger. Overall, we had a great stay at a nice hotel with great staff members. With so many hotels in Vegas, we would only stay here again if there was a need to be in the particular vicinity for an event.

Coming from the Four Seasons where I felt taken care of, the Encore at Wynn just feels like another Las Vegas strip hotel that didn't provide more than a spacious room with a view.

, we were excited for our 2nd Four Seasons experience. Four Seasons is known for its consistent service in its portfolio which was evident between our two stays.

We booked a 3-night stay at Four Seasons Miami for $1,200 ($380/night) under their "One More Night" promotion. Booking through the Four Seasons Preferred Partner program our stay came with daily breakfast ($35 per person), a complimentary upgrade, a welcome treat, and a $100 stay credit.

Located in Brickell Key the Four Seasons Miami is a great base for those wishing to be a bit farther away from the city center. Exemplary service coupled with comfortable facilities provided us with a wondering 3-night stay. We would stay here again when visiting Miami.

We used 40k points for a one-night stay when cash rates were $300/night. In the future, at the $300 price point, I would stay at Beaux-Arts, an updated property, with access to the same facilities.

My friend spoke highly of the MO Miami for years and I was excited for our three night stay there. We had a wonderful time and now have a new bar for luxury hospitality. Excited for our upcoming stay at MO New York in the fall.

Spent 40k points on a one-night stay during our two weeks in Miami. While the staff was attentive and courteous, the dated room made the stay feel more like a Holiday Inn than Marriott's luxurious JW brand. Rooms on the 7th floor are updated and bookable as an "Inspired" Guest Room. For 40k points or less than $250 a night, I would book a stay in the Inspired room instead.

Arriving after 11 pm, we stayed here as it would be easier to transfer to Conrad for our two-night stay, the following day.

In the future, for $200/night, I would rather stay at the Conrad, which has bigger standard rooms and more in-room amenities.

After a 2-night stay in the Vdara Fountain Suite, we were offered a complimentary upgrade to a 56th floor One Bedroom Penthouse Fountain View Suite.

As an MGM Gold member, the $45 daily resort fee and $35 daily valet parking are waived. Booked under an MGM 30% deal and the Vdara Fountain View Suite costs $195 a night (total), which is pricey for a non-weekend stay in Vegas. For our dates, the Penthouse Fountain View Suite was listed for $349/night (plus taxes and fees).

If you are looking for a central Strip, non-casino hotel and you don't have a car, this is an option.

For almost $200/night, I would rather stay at the

Park Hyatt Washington D.C. Review

We spent $650 booking a 3rd-night free stay at Park Hyatt DC. Booked a 1 King Bed and was upgraded to a Park Junior Suite. 

With a Georgetown location, great staff & delicious hotel restaurant Blue Duck Tavern, we would definitely stay here again.

The Confidante Miami Beach - The Unbound Collection by Hyatt Review

Booked a King Deluxe for $239 (+ taxes & fees) per night & was upgraded to an Oceanfront with Lounge Deck. I booked this hotel specifically to be close to the beach, to lounge in the Miami sunshine & this hotel was perfect for that type of trip.

After living & working in South Florida for almost 10 years, I have come to tolerate Miami's lackluster customer service & premium proximity prices. I was surprised as the staff was pleasant and the hotel felt well-maintained; I would stay here again.

Hyatt Centric Brickell Miami Review

Booked this room via a travel agent, for $249/night, to test out Hyatt Privé, along with my Globalist status. Under Hyatt Privé our stay came with a complimentary upgrade to a King Bed Junior Suite, $100 credit & welcome gift.

With a great location in residential Brickell and a great staff, I would definitely stay here again especially if the rate is under $200/night.

The Hyatt Regency Los Angeles International Airport hotel is located across the highway from Los Angeles International Airport. This contemporary hotel is 5 miles from Venice Beach and 12 miles from eateries and entertainment along Santa Monica Pier.

Hyatt Regency Los Angeles International Airport Review

. Booked a King Room & was upgraded to a King Runway View on the 8th floor. The hotel has 13 floors, with the Fitness Center & "city view" conference rooms on the 13th (Penthouse) floor. Overall we had a nice stay at the hotel & would stay here again if we had an early flight from LAX.

The Hotel Beaux Arts hotel is located in a glass and steel high-rise, this stylish hotel is a 10-minute walk from Bayfront Park and an 8-minute drive from American Airlines Arena.

Minimalist rooms and 1-bedroom suites offer ocean or bay views, as well as marble bathrooms, flat-screen TVs, and iPads. All also have free Wi-Fi and coffeemakers.

Hotel Beaux Arts Review

Located on the top floors of the JW Marquis Miami, after living in South Florida for 7 years, finally got an opportunity to visit this hotel.

Used 40k points to book a Rockwell room & were upgraded to the O'Keefe. Nicely appointed room, with large bathroom with double vanity, soaker tub & shower. 

Great use of 40k Marriott Bonvoy points, although I was still charged the resort & parking fee. Despite the awkward front desk situation, would definitely stay here again.

The Hyatt Regency Miami is located adjacent to the Miami Convention Center, this polished riverfront hotel is a 6-minute walk from Bayfront Park and 2.3 miles from the Vizcaya Museum & Gardens.

Low-key rooms offer free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and iPod docks. Club rooms have access to a lounge serving free continental breakfast and afternoon snacks. Suites add separate sitting areas.

Hyatt Regency Miami Review

This hotel is attached to the Miami Convention Center & can get very busy during conventions/events. Our stay was quiet with a few hiccups at breakfast & during checkout. I would stay here again for a few nights, noting the bed comfort was not to my liking & at the price point of 12,000 points for our one-night stay.

Andaz San Diego Review

Used a Hyatt Free Night to stay at the Andaz San Diego which is a nice hotel in San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter. While the queen room was small, it was quite functional & used the space well. Would definitely stay here again for the comfy bed & delicious breakfasts.

Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego Review

I've come to realize my sweet spot for hotels is 200 - 600 rooms. The boutique feels with enough amenities to make things enjoyable. With a great location & awesome staff, the more than 1,600-room Manchester was just too big for me.

We used a free night certificate for this stay, as rates for the night were upwards of $600. If given the choice I might look to stay somewhere else in the same area in the future.

JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. Live Review

We paid $517 ($189/night + $30 daily destination fee & taxes) for our two-night stay. Overall a nice stay in downtown LA would stay again if less than $200/night, and they are not hosting an event after COVID things settle down.

Hotel 50 Bowery Review

We had to downgrade our room as it was not available when we arrived at 9 am. The king-standard room was nice, definitely wished we had a couch to lounge on though.

The hotel is in the heart of Chinatown, with an amazing rooftop bar (The Crown). They allowed us to "visit" for a bit, however in order to order we needed a reservation which came with a $75 per person minimum.

For $101/night (plus taxes), this hotel was a great find & we will definitely return.

Ventana Big Sur Review

We spent 30k points per night for our 4-night stay where cash rates are upwards of $3,000/night. Having Hyatt Globalist we were upgraded to a Big Sur Villa, their 930 - 1,198 square foot bi-level suite, which was a treat. Overall great stay would definitely return.

Hyatt Regency San Francisco Review 

Great room in a great part of San Fran. Ideal place for a hotel "home base". We paid $182.37 (total) for the one night and being a Hyatt Globalist was upgraded to the Balcony Suite. For San Fran prices this stay was reasonable & the room was well designed to maximize space. If we needed to stay close to Embarcadero, would definitely stay here again.
