Atlantic Fish Company Review

We stumbled upon Atlantic Fish Company just before the dinner rush and snagged a table, but we'd definitely recommend making a reservation, especially for later dining.

Our server, Karina, was an absolute gem! Attentive, friendly, and genuinely personable – she really elevated our experience.

And the food? Amazing! Seriously, we'd travel back to Boston just to savor those flavors again. The branzino was a highlight, and we loved that it came with two sides included.

A few minor observations: the tables for two are a bit cozy (read: small), and the bathroom is down a flight of stairs, which poses an accessibility issue.

But those are minor quibbles in an otherwise fantastic experience. Hot towels at the end of the meal were a lovely touch! Overall, Atlantic Fish Company is a must-try for seafood lovers in the Boston area. Highly recommend!

Din Tai Fung Restaurant Review

Din Tai Fung at the Aria in Las Vegas was a delicious dining experience. The food was incredible; we especially loved the Baby Back Ribs, Crab PK XLB, and Shrimp Spicy Wontons. The service was also top-notch, with attentive and courteous staff who made us feel well-cared for. The jasmine tea was the best I've ever had – the fact that they left the carafe at our table so we could enjoy hot tea throughout the meal was a lovely touch.

However, getting to the restaurant proved to be a bit of an adventure, as it's located on the casino floor, and we had to navigate through crowds and smoke to get there. We also had a slight hiccup with the hostess who told us there were no reservations available, but we were able to snag one online just 45 minutes later.

Finally, while the food was amazing, the portion sizes felt a bit small for the price. We also learned that ordering all our food at once meant it arrived in rapid succession, so next time, we'll space out our orders. Despite these minor points, we had an amazing evening at Din Tai Fung and would definitely return.

The Original Rinaldi's Deli and Cafe is a popular spot for sandwiches, salads, and breakfast in El Segundo and Los Angeles. They've been serving up delicious food for over 60 years, and their reputation for quality is well-deserved.

The sandwiches are the star of the show at Rinaldi's. They use fresh, high-quality ingredients, and their sandwiches are always made to order. The Italian combo is a classic choice, but there are plenty of other options to choose from, including the Reuben, the BLT, and the grilled chicken salad sandwich.

The salads are also very good at Rinaldi's. They're made with fresh ingredients, and they're tossed in a variety of dressings. The Cobb salad is a popular choice, but there are also other options to choose from, such as the Caesar salad and the Greek salad.

Kyu Miami Chef Tasting Dinner Menu ($95 pp)

We went to Kyu for my youngest sister's birthday. Located in Wynwood, the restaurant has a large inside dining area as well as several tables outside 4 under the building awning & more located in the street.

With our 615pm reservation, we were seated promptly outside at one of the four tables located right outside the main entrance. After being seated & greeted by our waitress, we asked if we could do the tasting menu due to our party's lactose intolerance. The waitress left to check with the kitchen & upon her return triumphantly announced we could indeed have the tasting menu. 

The chef-tasting menu consists of 9 menu items listed as "Enjoy a delicious selection of Chef's favorite seasonal dishes, perfectly sized to your group. Let us do the hard work"

We had a few minutes before happy hour ended (at 630pm) and put in two orders of Old Fashioned (w/ George Dickle Rye) along with one Margarita with Olmeca Altos Plata Tequila. Each drink was $10 ($7 happy hour + $3 specialty upcharge).

We sipped on our drinks and chatted while we waited for the first dish to arrive.

1st course was Krunchy Kale ($9), which ranked 7th out of the 8 entrees for all of us. Overall this starter was okay & not something I would order again.

2nd course was Crispy Spicy Hamachi Tartare (21), which ranked 1st of the 8 entrees for my spouse & sister while ranking 2nd of the 8 entrees for me.

While I don't like meat tartare, I enjoy fish/seafood tartare. The crispy rice base was topped with wasabi mayo & the fish was the perfect mixture of crunchy, melty, sweet & spicy. I would definitely order this entree again.

3rd course was Roasted Cauliflower ($20), which ranked 5th and 6th for my spouse & sister respectively while ranking 4th for me.

Upon setting the entree down, we were instructed to cut up the cauliflower & mix it with the herb vinaigrette. The kitchen placed the goat cheese on the side, rather than underneath the cauliflower for our lactose intolerance, which we greatly appreciated. I loved this entree and would definitely order it again.

4th course was Crispy Pork Belly ($17, which ranked 5th for my sister & me while ranking 6th for my spouse. While the pork belly was nice & tender,  I personally did not like the bun. It was "mushy" and not as sweet as expected.

5th course was Thai Fried Rice Stone Pot w/ egg ($25), which ranked 3rd for my spouse & sister, while ranked 6th for me. 

The entree came with table-side preparation, where the waiter mixed all the ingredients together & portioned it out in silver bowls. My spouse & sister thoroughly enjoyed this meal, however, the rice, to me, tasted like the burnt rice you find at the bottom of the pot & I felt it needed a bit more, something. I would be interested in trying this entree with the king crab option, to see if the crab provides that special something I was looking for.

The 6th course was Beef Short Ribs ($45), which ranked 2nd for my sister, 3rd for me & 4th for my spouse. 

When the entree was set, we were instructed to squeeze the lime over the meat. The meat was tender, and the contrast of the sauce with the lime was delectable. The sweet soy and garlic soy were so good, my sister refused to wipe the sauce from her hands and saved it for the last lick. This was a flavorsome entree I will think about until my next trip to Kyu Miami.

The 7th course was Grilled Bok Choy ($11), which we all agreed ranked 8th of the entrees. I love bok choy, however, this entree needed to be cooked a bit longer as the stem was tough.

Less than a minute after the bok choy was placed on the table, the 8th course of Wagyu Beef Brisket ($49) arrived. This ranked 1st for me, 2nd for my spouse, and 4th for my sister. 

The kitchen's instruction was to make lettuce wraps with the meat, sides, spices & sauces provided. The meat melted in your mouth & was a great "end" to the meal.

The 9th course was Tropical Fruits ($10) which was brought out with "Happy Birthday" written in chocolate on the plate, along with a candle.

Overall the $95 per person tasting menu was an unforgettable experience. Next time, I will order the brisket, the ribs & either the cauliflower or the tartare to share, to spare my wallet.

Vaga Brunch Review

Our visit to Vaga blew us away. Every dish we tried was delicious, especially the Ponto Pancakes – that miso caramel was a game changer. The Chicken Sandwich was also fantastic, and adding an egg took it to the next level. Beyond the amazing food, the presentation was beautiful, the service was friendly and attentive, and the whole place felt clean and inviting. Honestly, we can't wait to go back and try more of the menu. It's become a new favorite spot for us.

Cosmo's Snack Bar Restaurant Review

After checking social media & learning about Cosmo's Sunday BOGO 50% off, we decided to try them out. Arriving promptly at 355 pm (they open at 4 pm) allows for the first choice of seating in the intimate dining room. We picked a table near the entrance to the back patio & then promptly went to the counter to order. Overall we had a great experience & would definitely return in the future.

After we explored the Denver Zoo & Denver Museum of Nature & Science for five hours, we walked one mile through City Park to have dinner at Mono Mono Korean Fried Chicken.

Upon entering there was 1 waitress at the bar who instructed us to sit anywhere we liked.

After picking the only wet table in the restaurant, we picked a different table/booth combination against the back wall before settling in (aka removing cold weather layers.)

On the walk over, we decided to order so when the waitress came, after we were settled, by with waters, we promptly ordered Combo B, "mild", 86 the slaw, instead subbing for an extra piece of Texas toast.

During our Wednesday night visit, there were two other occupied tables: a table of two on the same wall of booths/table combos as well as a family of three in the middle booth. During our visit, these were the only 3 occupied tables. As we were leaving several more patrons entered the restaurant

While we waited for our food, we visited the bathroom to wash our hands, noting that it was stocked and relatively clean. Albeit noting both paper hand towels and toilet paper were set on the back of the toilet, rather than in their respective wall unit holders.

Our food arrived 20 minutes after we went to the bathroom, so around 25 minutes after ordering and we immediately asked for a to-go box, don't be fooled Combo B is a plethora of food. We portioned half of the food (chicken) in the to-go boxes and began to tackle the mountain of fries (cold fries are a "no-go")

I was surprised at how good all the food was, my favorite was the teriyaki soy followed closely by the saucy popcorn chicken. 

Service was good, the one waitress managed the three tables well, ensuring we each had everything we needed. She was always within earshot if anything came up during our meal.

One negative was that I asked for a cup of hot water (to make a cup of tea) and she stated they did not have water (even at the bar) but could ask the kitchen to boil a cup for me, which I declined.

Overall a great experience, with great food at a very reasonable price.

The Lab Collective Restaurant Review

This place was a real find. We loved the generous portions, friendly staff, and convenient location close to our hotel and the beach. The prices were also very reasonable for the area. We enjoyed everything we ordered, especially the Chili Lime Wings, Fried Chicken, and Chicken & Honey Mustard Salad. The Lab Cadillac cocktail was a standout too, perfectly made with a delicious tajin rim.

While the service was generally good, it did slow down a bit during peak hours, which is understandable. Our only real disappointment was the Seafood Linguini. It was tasty, but we expected a heartier dish with more seafood, given the price. Overall, though, we had a great experience. This spot offers good food, good portions, great prices, and good service. We'll visit again on our next trip to Oceanside.
