Jackie DC Happy Hour Restaurant Review

Jackie DC is a solid happy hour spot in Navy Yard.

 At $9 cocktails we were able to work through almost the entire drink menu without breaking the bank — major win. Server Young kept it attentive and informative. The Maître d' even took us to the back room to see the Jackie mural, which was a cool touch. Food presentation was on point, though normal menu prices are a bit steep for the portion sizes. We'd come back… but only if we're in the area.

22nd St. Landing Seafood Grill and Bar was built in 

 Dick Mannila, a USMC Vietnam veteran, developed the Landing property and owned and operated the restaurant until his death on October 23, 2019. The restaurant is currently owned and operated by Dick’s immediate family members. -

22nd St. Landing Lunch Review

A good lunch spot for folks in San Pedro the day before a cruise. It was on our list of places to visit and came highly recommended by a friend. In the future I would rather try a new seafood establishment first, before returning here. While the experience was good, with the Oysters Rockefeller being the standout, it was still missing something to warrant a return trip.

Capacity is 65 persons, very imited seatings. Groups of 2 - 3 should aim for the bar seating while larger groups use one of the 4 tables available. If possible, call to make a reservation.

W﻿hen in Detroit, one must try deep dish pizza. Reddit suggested this location 2 miles outside downtown & it was a great experience. Good food with good prices, just expect to wait if you arrive 90 minutes after opening.

I was excited about our 3-night stay at Shinola, however initial impressions left much to be desired. While touted as on Four Seasons level of luxury, there were significant caps that cause us to classify this as a midlevel hotel. I sent a feedback email to the GM & then saw the Assistant GM in the lobby the next morning. I forwarded the email I sent to the GM and Sean's response was 5 star.

O﻿riginally booked in 2023 for a 2024 stay (at 25k points per night), we rebooked to 2025 stay (at 30k per night). Overall the stay was nice but left much to be desired at this price point. For comparison we stayed in a suite at the Park Hyatt Chicago for 20k per night and had a much more luxurious stay.

B﻿ooked a 3-night stay for 35k points per night in a 2 Queen. Prior to check-in, requested a complimentary upgrade to a 2 Queen oceanview which was priced at $1,033 per night. 

﻿The staff were amazing, the buffet breakfast delicious, the infinite pools were well maintained and the ocean views were breathtaking.

﻿This is a great Hyatt redemption hotel (35k) as the standard rooms are spacious & the Globalist amenities are plenty. However, the Andaz Maui still has some refinement in some areas (nickel & dining) to justify it's high nightly rate of near $1k.
