The Bottom Line

What We Loved

  • Wifi was great (52 Mbps), and there were no issues with Zoom meetings.
  • Suites are equipped with a stacked washer & dryer, along with an electric stovetop, dishwasher, microwave, full fridge & freezer.
  • Complimentary laundry detergent and dryer sheets were available by contacting housekeeping.
  • Staff adhered to and enforced the indoor mask mandate.
  • There were hand sanitizer and mask stations throughout the hotel.
  • The valet was efficient, it never took more than 5 minutes to get our car, even during busy times.
  • Housekeeping was friendly and thorough.
  • Beautiful unobstructed views, able to see the Bellagio Fountain show along with the Nevada mountains.
  • Reid, the bellhop who brought our luggage, was nice. He provided tips & tricks about the room (how to control the light shade, who to call to request silverware & etc.)
  • Non-casino hotel (a negative for some). Patrons can visit the adjacent Aria hotel which has a casino.
  • Good mid-strip location. Easy access to nearby Cosmopolitan, nearby restaurants, and activities.

What We Didn't Like

  • Gym was small & the hours were limited (8am - 5pm).
  • The pool was closed and we were instructed to use the Aria pool. The walk between the hotels was 50% uncovered (unless you walked through the casino) & took around 5 minutes.
  • $45 daily resort fee "includes" wired and wireless internet, in-room local and toll-free telephone calls, access to 2,000 electronic newspapers, and airline boarding pass printing in the business center. Note: As MGM Gold this is waived at all MGM properties.
  • The hotel does not have a "restaurant". The lobby Starbucks had limited hours, and the 24-hour Market Cafe didn't have an extensive menu. Most days we ate off-strip or at a restaurant in Aria.
  • The in-room tablet did not allow for pre-ordering breakfast the night before. You had to order during business hours.
  • Valet parking is $30/day Monday - Thursday and $35/day Friday through Sunday. Note: Valet parking is complimentary for MGM Gold members.
  • MGM Rewards changed on February 1st. Our Feb 8th stay was met with confusion from staff regarding the perks (_free parking, waived resort fee,$100 credit, complimentary upgrade_). Note: I emailed customer service on day 3 of our stay & Meghan contacted me to provide a resolution.

The Verdict

After a 2-night stay in the Vdara Fountain Suite, we were offered a complimentary upgrade to a 56th floor One Bedroom Penthouse Fountain View Suite.

As an MGM Gold member, the $45 daily resort fee and $35 daily valet parking are waived. Booked under an MGM 30% deal and the Vdara Fountain View Suite costs $195 a night (total), which is pricey for a non-weekend stay in Vegas. For our dates, the Penthouse Fountain View Suite was listed for $349/night (plus taxes and fees).

If you are looking for a central Strip, non-casino hotel and you don't have a car, this is an option.

For almost $200/night, I would rather stay at the Four Seasons Las Vegas, another non-casino hotel located on the Strip, for better consistent service & amenities.
