Bottom Line

What we loved

  • No line during check-in.
  • The bathroom was a nice size with nice amenities (hand soap smelled good).
  • The high floor, corner room was quiet.
  • AC worked well. Upon entering the room it was quite warm & we set it to 69 and the room was cool within 30 minutes.
  • The room key is programmed for your floor (both a pro and con). For security, if your room is on the 58th floor, you can only access the 58th floor with your key card. However, if you have family on multiple floors, you cannot access their floors that differ from yours.
  • Full-sized toiletries in the bathroom.
  • In-room fridge, separate from minibar to store personal food.
  • Both nightstands had multiple power outlets including USB charging capabilities.
  • The city view was nice from the 58th floor.
  • At 7 am on the day of check-out, I spoke with John at the front desk about a late check-out. Was given a 12 pm complimentary check-out and was informed that a 1 pm would cost $50.

What we did not like

  • During check-in, there was no mention of my gold status or elite benefits. Dorothy, the front desk attendant, was very new and kept going to the back office for answers to the questions I had.
  • I checked in 24 hours before and requested a digital key that never came. After check-in when I requested a digital key, the Hilton app kept giving an error message.
  • No in-room coffee machine. No complimentary coffee was provided.
  • The clock in our room was one hour behind (easily fixed). Does that mean the clock has been wrong since March 13, 2022, when Daylights Saving began?
  • The gym is open from 5am to 8pm. Which we found out when we tried to access at 11pm. Such a weird time for this massive resort located in a city full of nightlife.
  • There was no text feature (either with the hotel directly or via the Hilton app). We had to join the check-in line for simple inquiries, which sometimes resulted in a 15-minute wait to speak to someone.
  • The daily $45 resort fee includes (spoiler, nothing): "Guest internet access; smart TV casting ability; 10% off spa or fitness retail; 5% off spa or fitness treatments; 5% off cabana experience; 5% off 2 pool chair experience; unlimited local and toll-free calls."
  • The hotel does not provide a complimentary airport shuttle service (which could be included in the daily $45 resort fee).
  • The Hilton app had limited functionality, unable to see bill charges. (You can view your room charges with the in-room television, however, noted the charges listed were all coded as "sales tax" which was incorrect).
  • YouTube TV Chromecast functionality was not working (known YouTube API issue).
  • Vending machine on the floor was completely sold out. Mentioned to Dorothy at the front desk who stated it was through a third party & they did not have a way to refill it.
  • No robes or slippers were provided. I did not remember to ask when I went back down to the front desk.
  • The bathroom door only opened halfway.

Verdict

Booked a one-night stay in a King Deluxe City View at Las Vegas Hilton at Resorts World directly with Hilton for $233.56 ($161 room charge + $45 resort fee + $27.56 taxes). According to the rate, this rate was a 'resort exclusive' for 20% in savings.

Arriving after 11 pm, we stayed here as it would be easier to transfer to Conrad for our two-night stay, the following day.

In the future, for $200/night, I would rather stay at the Conrad, which has bigger standard rooms and more in-room amenities.
