The Bottom Line

What We Loved

Big TV with Chromecast functionality with the ability to stream YouTube (unlike at many hotel chains).
Spacious room with comfortable bed.
The room had a working fireplace.
Digital lock with a keypad for front door and room.
Close to Idyllwild town center (15-minute walk).
A small breakfast (coffee & individual pastries) is included in the room rate.
The staff was responsive to text inquires.

What We Didn't Like

Wifi was not password protected.
No onsite restaurant or store.
No (free) water is provided for guests.
No elevator for the two-floor hotel.
9 rooms located across 2 floors (3 on 1st, 6 on 2nd).
The room doors don't have peepholes, we can't see who is knocking before opening the door.
The walls are thin, you can hear neighbors' TV.
There is no electric car charging station on site.
The hotel does not have a front desk, check-in is done electronically.

The Verdict

Booked a two-night stay in a Superior Room at the Creekstone Inn through Chase Travel for $525.84. Note this 9-room hotel has a 2-night minimum during the weekend.

Great location within walking distance to the town center, yet far enough for quiet nights, would definitely stay here again when we are in the Idyllwild area.
