The Bottom Line

What We Loved

  • Large, clean modern room with a comfortable (firm) bed.
  • Lounge access for Gold members.
  • Good location, close to a shopping center, gas station, interstate, and a beach.
  • In-room coffee machine (not a Nespresso/Keurig)

What We Didn't Like

  • Barn door bathroom (a negative for some due to lack of privacy).
  • Not much is within walking distance, definitely need a car to get around

The Verdict

Stayed here for 3 nights & did not have time to explore the nearby Torrey Pines Reserve or the beach. The hotel is in a plaza with other hotels including the Residence Inn Del Mar, the Hampton Inn Del Mar & a Double Tree by Hilton which are budget options in a great location.

I would definitely stay here again; the lounge, though small, had a good variety of food & was kept clean.
