Park Hyatt Washington D.C. Review

"Park Hyatt Washington D.C. is located in the West End neighboring Georgetown, Pennsylvania Avenue, and the White House. Savor Michelin distinguished food in Blue Duck Tavern while sipping exceptional wines, as you watch a dramatic culinary presentation in the open kitchen and wood-burning Molteni oven." - Park Hyatt

The Bottom Line

What We Loved

  • Amazing, attentive staff.
  • Spacious Corner Park Junior Suite
  • In-room stocked Nespresso with green & black tea capsules
  • Fast, reliable WiFi (63 MB)
  • Globalist breakfast credit is $90 & we were able to sample many items from the menu during our 3-night stay.

What We Didn't Like

  • Windows need to be soundproofed, could hear street noise from the 9th floor.
  • The pool & gym are located on the "M" (2nd) floor however hotel signage says it is on the 3rd floor, which was a bit confusing.
  • The suite had a barn door between the living & bedroom, wish there was a locking door.

The Verdict

We spent $650 booking a 3rd-night free stay at Park Hyatt DC. Booked a 1 King Bed and was upgraded to a Park Junior Suite.

With a Georgetown location, great staff & delicious hotel restaurant Blue Duck Tavern, we would definitely stay here again.

Check-in: After getting off at the Foggy Bottom GWU Metro stop, we walked through GWU to head towards the hotel.

Upon arrival, there was no bellman at the door. As we let ourselves in, David from the front desk was walking towards us asking if we needed assistance with our luggage.

At the check-in desk, David noted were had been upgraded to a Park Junior Suite (also noted in the Hyatt app) on the 8th floor. We asked if the assigned room 1) had a view and 2) was a connecting room. David found us a new room on the 6th floor with a view however noting it was a connecting room. He was persistent & continued to search & finally found us a Park Junior Suite, with a view & a non-connecting room. David handed us two keys & directed us to the elevator.

Upon entering the room, the phone rang. It was David checking to see if we needed anything & informing us to call the front desk with any issues.

At 17:35 we called the front desk to see if there were any reservations available at Blue Duck Tavern & we were able to get an 1800 reservation.

This was a great way to start a great three (3) night's stay.
