The Bottom Line
What We Loved
- During our first stay (January 2024), we realized we did not like the pillows, as they were too soft. Prior to our 2nd stay we requested 2 memory foam pillows which were more comfortable.
- During our first stay (January 2024) we realized the room's only fridge was a stocked mini-fridge. Prior to our 2nd stay we requested a personal fridge, was in our room upon arrival & was very cold.
- Spacious suite equipped with two full bathrooms, with a double sink & tub in the main bedroom. There is ample storage space in the dressing room.
- Staff is very personable. Everyone we encountered, from the bellman to Nomi staff, remembered our names.
- Good location close to many shops and restaurants.
What We Didn't Like
- Nomi breakfast options are limited, we went through all the menu items & were repeating our favorites during our 5-night stay.
- View from the Lake View room was better than from the Chicago Avenue suite.
- There was no tablet in our room during our 2nd stay. Staff noted it was removed for maintenance.
- Wifi speed fluctuated from 15 to 50 mbps during our stay.
- Chromecast would sign out randomly over the course of our stay & we'd have to resign in.
The Verdict
After visiting in January 2024, spending two nights in a King Bed with Lakeview Room 1616, we came back for a 5-night stay. Our cash + points booking along with a suite upgrade was a great value for our June stay. The Chicago Avenue suite was spacious and having two full bathrooms was a huge plus. We especially loved being able to request a personal fridge and memory foam pillows – it made our second stay even better than the first. While the breakfast options could be improved and the Wi-Fi was a bit spotty, the friendly staff and convenient location near shops and restaurants made it a great home base for exploring. Lastly, the value for the price was excellent, especially with our cash + points booking and suite upgrade. We'd definitely recommend this hotel for anyone (Hyatt Globalist in particular) looking for a comfortable and convenient stay.
