The Hyatt Regency Miami is located adjacent to the Miami Convention Center, this polished riverfront hotel is a 6-minute walk from Bayfront Park and 2.3 miles from the Vizcaya Museum & Gardens.
Low-key rooms offer free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and iPod docks. Club rooms have access to a lounge serving free continental breakfast and afternoon snacks. Suites add separate sitting areas.

The Bottom Line
What We Loved
- Good location in downtown Miami, close to shops, restaurants & Whole Foods.
- Attentive & responsive front desk & valet staff.
- Our first room (2016) had a weird humming noise in the walls, we asked to be moved to a different room & our 2nd room was spotless & humm-free.
- The room was spacious, with a fridge & coffee pot, along with a work desk & chair.
What We Didn't Like
- Breakfast service was a hodgepodge & felt maniac. There were two people taking orders, however, they didn't communicate with each other so we had to repeat the order to the second person, noting we already ordered with the first person.
- The hotel needs renovations as the furnishings are old. Not a fan of the hotel's bathroom that have shower curtains, and a petri dish for bacteria.
- Booked a standard King room and received a [high floor] double.
The Verdict
This hotel is attached to the Miami Convention Center & can get very busy during conventions/events. Our stay was quiet with a few hiccups at breakfast & during checkout. I would stay here again for a few nights, noting the bed comfort was not to my liking & at the price point of 12,000 points for our one-night stay.

After landing at Miami airport at 8 am, from our LAX red-eye, we retrieved our checked luggage, collected our rental car, then headed towards the Hyatt Regency Miami for our one-night stay.
We arrived at the hotel around 9 am & parked the rental off to the side of the large driveway. Upon walking in, I approached the front desk to ask if it was possible to check-in. They pointed to a sign stating it would be $50 for early check-in, to which I asked: "Even for a Hyatt Globalist?". They laughed & stated "No silly let's get you checked in".
After ID & credit card verification I was given keys to room 2016, a double on the 20th floor. They noted that there were no clean King rooms available as they had an event the day before & said to check later that afternoon for a possible room change.
We moved the car from the parking space to valet (complimentary on this booked award stay) & the bellhop helped take the luggage out of the car & into a cart. Then we were off into the elevator up to the 20th floor.
The room was spacious & functional, however, the decor was dark & drab. There was a balcony with views into Brickell, however, the balcony door seemed to have been intentionally altered to not be opened by patrons. The Chromecast-enabled TV was small, yet functional. My first impression was that the room was not the star of this hotel, its downtown Miami location was.
After taking photos & videos of the room, we closed the blinds & went to sleep, still a bit languid from the overnight flight. Upon awakening, we heard a not-so-faint hum coming through the walls. After waiting a few minutes, the sound did not disappear &
