The Bottom Line

What We Loved

Location: close to Aldgate East & Whitechapel Underground stations. Close to many shops & restaurants. 10 minute walk to Spitalfields Markat & Shoreditch.
Upgraded to a room with a step-up balcony. Nice to have some outdoor space.
Bed was comfortable, able to get sleep; albeit it was on the firm side.
No noise from 9th floor rooftop bar.
Included breakfast (Globalist) was good. Limited rotation so after a few days it would become boring.
TV had built-in Chromescast that sporadically would drop off while watching a video.
Staff was very friendly & accommodating. Was given 12 pm early check-in.
Booked for 9k points per night, where similar rooms were £600 per night. Great value on points, although the room was small.

What We Didn't Like

Walls are thin: can hear folks in the hallway.
The room is small with no drawers to unpack suitcase. Instead there was a luggage rack propped in the corner upon arrival.
Hotel has a small windowless gym that was quite stuffy.
Wifi was on the lower end, a bit slow for such a densely populated area.
Not enough power outlets in the room. There was only one side table with one outlet. The desk, on the opposite side of the bed, has two outlets and then's there one by the front door, that we used when we needed to iron.
Location is sketch, walking through lots of homeless & trash.

The Verdict

We need a central location, available on points for our 3-night stay. At 9k points per night, it was a steal of a deal. Staff is wonderful & it was a great base of a few days.
