The Bottom Line
What We Loved
- Spacious studio suite with couch & kitchenette.
- Keycard needed to access front doors & elevators.
- Free coffee & hot water available in the lobby.
- Well-equipped kitchenette with full fridge, dishwasher, plates & toaster.
- Large gym with plenty of equipment, however, the gym was in the basement with minimal view/natural light.
- Paid $502 (plus $76 in taxes) for our 3-night stay which was a good value for what we needed. In the future, I would look into staying at other hotels before staying here again.
What We Didn't Like
- Low water pressure in the shower, barely a trickle.
- Thin walls, you can hear what's happening in the hallways.
- Lots of construction in the area, and a homeless population. Would advise against walking alone at night.
- Hotel only has valet parking at $45/night, which utilizes a nearby parking garage.
- Bedroom has only 1 night table with limited outlets for use.
- Wifi speed is 9, extremely slow for streaming which caused frequent video buffering.
- Slow response to text messages.
- Wall mounted AC, not central air with resulted in uneven heating/cooling of the room.
- The motion-sensor light switch in the bathroom illuminated the room during early morning bathroom visits. We had to cover the sensor with tape to stop this from happening during our 3-night stay.
- When looking for a spoon we found dirty cutlery & the dishwasher had a weird smell.
The Verdict
This hotel offers a mixed experience. While the spacious suites, well-equipped kitchenettes, and good value for the price are definite positives, several drawbacks prevent a wholeheartedly positive recommendation. Issues like low water pressure, thin walls, slow WiFi, and a poorly functioning dishwasher detract from the overall experience. The lack of central air and inconvenient bathroom lighting further add to the list of cons.
Consider this hotel if spaciousness and a kitchenette are priorities and you plan to spend minimal time in the room. However, if amenities like strong water pressure, reliable WiFi, and a peaceful environment are important to you, explore alternative options.
