The Bottom Line
What We Loved
- Eiffel tower views, close to a metro station.
- Staff at the restaurant was exceptional.
- Bed was comfortable however the pillows were too soft.
- Breakfast was good. Able to order al a carte items as well as use the buffett.
- The room had floor to ceiling windows as well as a door that could be opened onto a "balcony". The room also looked into the interior of the hotel which was decorated with greenery.
What We Didn't Like
- Hotel does not have ice machines, was instructed to get ice from the bar or have it delivered to the room for 7 euros.
- Small gym with 2 treadmills and 2 bikes and a few free weights.
- Booked stay on points (240k) & during check-out was told we had to pay the 8,13€ per person, per night, city tax which was not disclosed during check-in.
The Verdict
After a Eurostar delayed & a confusing experience at Gare du Nord I had written Paris off before it even began. Thankfully the Canopy by Hilton Paris Trocadero helped pull me from the edge. It has a great location with views of the Eiffel tower & an amazing breakfast buffet (free for Hilton Gold members). With rates over €400 per night we were glad to be able to leverage 80k points per night for our 3-night stay.
