22nd St. Landing Lunch Review
22nd St. Landing Seafood Grill and Bar was built in 1989 and opened for business on June 5, 1990. Dick Mannila, a USMC Vietnam veteran, developed the Landing property and owned and operated the restaurant until his death on October 23, 2019. The restaurant is currently owned and operated by Dick’s immediate family members. - 22nd St. Landing

Food & Drink We Tried

Cioppino
A different twist on a fave dish, hearty seafood, wish it came with sourdough.

Crab Cake
Salad gave it a .5 star boost. Needed more crab for the price, more like a pancake than a crab cake.

Blackened Chicken Linguine
Good seasoning, good portion size with ample protein.

Baked Oyster Rockefeller
Highlight of the meal, would come back just for it.
Helpful Tip
If you can, try to visit during the week; parking can be a nightmare on weekends when the Landing gets crowded.
The Bottom Line
What We Loved
- We arrived around 1 pm on a Tuesday and although we were quoted a 15-minute wait, we were seated promptly.
- Staff were friendly and always around if anything was needed.
- I read online and it is noted on the menu that you have to request complimentary breadsticks, which we did. They were warm & delicious and the requesting friction stopped us from ordering two to three more baskets.
- Bathrooms near the front had 3 stalls, 2 sinks and was clean during our visit.
- Great views of the marina.
What We Didn't Like
- The elevator is not easily distinguishable when at the entrance. There should be more/better signage at the bottom of the staircase.
- The parking lot is narrow and broken up into sections. During our Tuesday 1 pm visit it took a few minutes to find a space. I can only imagine during a busy weekend how chaotic it would be.
- There is a $5 split order, shared entree or extra plate request which at the price point cheapens the experience.
The Verdict
A good lunch spot for folks in San Pedro the day before a cruise. It was on our list of places to visit and came highly recommended by a friend. In the future I would rather try a new seafood establishment first, before returning here. While the experience was good, with the Oysters Rockefeller being the standout, it was still missing something to warrant a return trip.
